Colin Simmons and Mike Pudelek founded Durkan Pudelek Ltd., in 1992 as a joint venture with the Durkan Group. The business was grown on the principle of high quality, repeat order projects with an impressive client list. Clients included blue chip property companies, institutional investors and the London landed estates.

Under their joint management and the support of the Durkan Group, the company soon emerged as a high quality contracting service across both the public sector and private sectors with a solid reputation for delivering complex and time dependant projects. The annual turnover of the company grew year on year to £45 million.

Colin and Mike are seasoned and experienced industry professionals with reputations for integrity, performance and deliverability. We are again seeking to provide a personal and professional service to those that we do business with. As successful businessmen their track record shows them to be pragmatic problem solvers capable of providing an entrepreneurial focus for the benefit of their clients.

Colin Simmons

Colin Simmons is a construction and property professional with over 35 years experience.

Following a construction management training scheme Colin specialised in the commercial aspects of the construction business, principally quantity surveying and estimating. Within 10 years he had been promoted rapidly to head up all commercial functions of a leading London construction company operating within a nationwide group which specialised in design and construct projects. He then progressed into general management and within a further 5 years was appointed managing director of a private construction company with an annual turnover of £45 million. He was subsequently promoted to the group board.

Mike Pudelek

Mike Pudelek entered the industry as an indentured apprentice joiner trained by his father, which is a family tradition going back five generations. After completing his apprenticeship, Mike undertook a formal management training scheme and moved from his native Scotland to London. He spent time at the sharp end of the business in trade supervision and site management before progressing into contracts management and ultimately to a senior board position, aged 32.

Before launching Durkan Pudelek, Mike was managing director of a listed property development company and group managing director of a large, privately-owned family business. He gained considerable experience during the last recession, assisting funders managing out and disposing of distressed assets. During the current downturn he has provided a similar service analysing the risks and opportunities facing funders and investors.
